Hi there. Welcome, my name’s Kevin Jackson. I’ve set up this blog so I can share my poetry and make connections through it. You’ve heard of the “butterfly effect”? Wiki describes it as: “Small variations of the initial condition of a dynamical system [that] may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system.” My hope is that ideas, images, energy in my poems may connect with you and other readers. Maybe you’ll leave a comment, maybe you’ll share some experiences, or perhaps a poem of your own. Others may do the same, and so the ripples can spread and grow. I believe poetry is at its best when it creates ripples, opening up new possibilities, spreading light.
People sometimes ask why I write poetry. I guess the simple answer is I write to say something. At it’s heart, poetry is a form of heightened speech, a voice. I’ve written things at different times over the years. Very few have survived the re-read test! Then in 2008 something changed and I’ve been writing regularly since.

Poetry, like many crafts, can focus and spread energy. If I can play my part in that process, I’ll be very happy.

I like your expanded self-introduction (and the photo!) – it draws me in and makes me feel welcome – it invites me to share your mind and experience, as expressed in your poetry. You have a creative use of the technology which works easily – even in the hands of a technophobe!
