Eternal sunshine
No rain
Or tears
Uplifting bright skies
Perpetual light days
No pain
Ruined dreams
Chafing -
Perfect happiness
Unbowed horizons
No fears
Time-bomb illnesses
Martial murder
Undone years -
Only peace
Ever-flowing peace
The stillness of the un-announced dawn
The pristine potential of the poem
Before it’s nailed and broken on the eye.
This it is
All of this
Conjoined
Confounded
Confronted
Of which I too partake
Whilst standing lone -
Eternal-observer.
Forever sun
Blazing
Blinding
Kindling the observer
Spirits from shadows
Worlds from waters
Which my own still eyes
Reflect.
Soon it will be time to sleep -
Prepare the next dawn.
It could be this
It will be this
But not now -
Now is the birth agony
And the exhausted blood
And the spilt blood
And the forked words that
Twist nets that bind and divide and deny.
I will not be denied.
I will have my dawn.
Let us sleep now.
