It would be easy to fill this page with a potted history, life and career accomplishments, disappointments, ups and downs. They would give you an outline. I want to try a different approach, and offer snap-shots. Some of these will literally be snap-shots, others fact snips or poems.
My legs have grown up in England and live in Kent along with other body parts, an assortment of furniture, books, music and plants. My thoughts and imaginings have never grown up and don’t do maps. Until last year I was a salary slave and now work happily for myself as a freelance management trainer and life coach. This is a blessing, giving me much more time to explore and do work I love and people value.
I love travelling. In January 08 I was lucky enough to have a holiday in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Here I am waiting to resume an amazing voyage along the Mekong in Laos. Remembering that was the spur to write Different light.
I grew up in a tiny village pretty much in the middle of England, close to the ancient cities of Nottingham and Derby. My local town Ilkeston was famous for the number of pubs it boasted, a throw-back to its proud coal-mining history.
Music and poetry are part of my evolution. I learned piano young, then singing, then learned organ, more singing, choir leading, arranging, composing followed. Music is an important part of my poetry, or rather sounds, structures, movement are.
